high cost of investing in technological infrastructures. Our
Shared Web Hosting Service offers an economical way to benefit
from the Internet by securely "sharing" a server
with other AWARE customers.
Our Shared Web Hosting Service offers extraordinary uptime
reliability and customer support and knowing how critical
the Internet is to your business applications, we perform
proactive maintenance of our web servers and daily backups
of our systems.
Whether your business is new to the web or
you're looking to transfer your account, AWARE Shared Web
Hosting Service offers basic introductory features to meet
your needs:
Domain Name Registration
AWARE offers virtual
domain Web hosting accounts, which means you can have
your own Web address or "domain name" (e.g.:
www.yourname.com). AWARE can handle domain name registration
or transfers on your behalf (i.e.: .com, .net, .org, etc.).
The InterNIC charges $70 to register a domain name, which
covers the first two years. We currently bill at a rate
of $35 per year thereafter.
We can also provide you with the appropriate
name server and technical contact information to assist you
in registering a domain name yourself. You can also have additional
domain names (sometimes called domain pointers) point to your
account for an additional charge of $10 per month plus a $20
one-time set-up fee.
Disk Storage Space
Disk storage space refers to the amount of
server disk storage specifically allocated to your account.
This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio
clips, POP mail messages, PDFs, and other files that make
up your website. Your Shared Hosting Account includes a specified
allotment of 50 MB of disk storage space but additional space
can be purchased for any account.
POP Accounts and Web Mail
In addition to mail forwarding, users have
the option to retrieve e-mail directly from POP3 mailboxes
on the mail server using an email program or through a browser
with web mail. Each account has a specified number of configurable
POP accounts.
CGI script support
All customers have access to a personal cgi-local
directory in which you can place your own custom CGI scripts.
CGI scripts are often used to accomplish tasks, which are
not supported by basic HTML such as a "hit" counter
or guest book. This directory can be used to set up scripts
that you write or find elsewhere on the web.
FTP Access
You will have unlimited access to your account
via FTP 24-hours a day to set up and maintain your web site.
You can work on HTML documents, graphics, and scripts locally
and then upload files to your website when ready.
Anonymous FTP
Enabling anonymous FTP allows visitors to
access your website to upload and/or download files without
a unique ID and password.
