Aware is both ISO 9001:2000 and CMM Level 2 assessed.

The Aware Quality Management System defines the process and quality management techniques of key business areas, from product development to customer interaction and satisfaction. It also provides standards for us to meet or exceed and allows for continued improvement based on technology innovations, industry trends and our customer's needs.

The ISO 9001:2000 standard is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization of Standardization. The ISO process strongly emphasizes the incorporation of quality standards in systems, procedures, documentation, and total employee involvement.

The Capability Maturity Model for software (CMM) developed by Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, USA is a framework that demonstrates the key elements of an effective software process. It is a model for judging the maturity of the software processes of an organization and for identifying the key practices that are required to increase the maturity of these processes.

To be certified to these standards/models, Aware implemented a quality management system covering the design, development, quality assurance, testing, and release procedures of our products and services. The Aware QMS also incorporates the purchasing of materials and services and the delivery of the products and services to the customer.

To earn ISO 9001:2000 certifications, Aware was inspected by an impartial auditor. URS Ltd., the world's leading quality management systems registrar, reviewed the development and implementation of our extensive quality management system. URS will continue to review Aware on a six-month basis to ensure that the quality standard is maintained and deserved.

The ISO 9001:2000 certifications and CMM Level 2 assessments serve as impartial and public appraisals of Aware, our procedures, and products.
